About My Clients
Whether you are experiencing upending life transitions, mental health crises, relationship struggles, or burn out, you deserve to process, make changes, and heal within a safe and affirming relationship. I work with clients who may be struggling with mental health crises related to their relationships, complex health needs, neurodivergence, or trauma. During our initial sessions, we assess how your family of origin shaped your attachment styles and how it may re-appear in current relationships.
My Background and Approach
I have been in the healthcare field for over 12 years, receiving advanced trainings in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Therapy. Emotionally Focused Therapy has shaped my practice with both individuals and couples. Assessing how someone's attachment history is appearing in their current relationships is empowering and reduces personal shame when experiencing relational struggles. I also gravitate toward mind-body modalities including somatic work and mindfulness, believing in the body's inherent wisdom and abilities to heal. I am currently an intern pursuing completion of my Masters degree from St Mary’s University of MN in Marriage and Family Therapy under the supervision of Jean Budge MA, LMFT, EOLD. Previously, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy at Augsburg University, practicing in hospice settings with interests in the use of music for ketamine therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that healing and true change can occur in relationships. We are meant to connect and carry each other's suffering and pain to move through it and grow from it. I believe therapy should be a safe space where you feel seen and heard. I am humbled and honored to bear witness to another's journey, especially in vulnerable moments. My personal values of building community in an increasingly polarized world, walking alongside the marginalized and undervalued members of our society, and building stronger, healthier relationships call me to do this work.
