About My Clients
I work with individual adults, age 18 and up. I have a special interest in sports psychology, institutional/organizational harm, family of origin (fancy talk for who you grew up with) harm, and survivors of narcissistic abuse. www.teresacolelpc.com
My Background and Approach
I approach this process from a place of curiosity. For those tribe members who want specifics (I see you!), I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Internal Family Systems and attachment theory, among others. But primarily, it is about the connection between us. Do you feel safe? Honored? Held with dignity and respect? More than a diagnosis? Training Certificate Level 1, Trauma-focused narrative therapy, The Allender Center at The Seattle School, 2019 Licensed Professional Counselor #11564, State of Colorado Board of Licensed Professional Counselor Examiners, 2013 Master of Arts in Counseling and Human Services, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, CACREP accredited, 2011 Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Level 1, Colorado Center for Alternative Psychology, 2010 Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education, Oral Roberts University, 1992
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
When I am not counseling, I have an affinity for books that take me to the spaciousness of the land and soul, mountain biking, and finely crafted IPAs. Check out my interview from ShoutOut Colorado: https://shoutoutcolorado.com/meet-teresa-cole-licensed-professional-counselor/
