About My Clients
Are you looking for someone that understands, accepts, and listens to you without judgement? Are you looking for someone who will walk with you through life’s obstacles and hear you out when things get rough? Or maybe you’re looking for someone who can help you sort through what’s going on inside your mind and bring some clarity and perspective?
My Background and Approach
I am an LGBTQUIA+ affirming and identified therapist who works by meeting you at wherever you’re at in your stage of healing and growth and can walk with you on the path towards wherever you would like to be at the end of your journey. I’ll always keep it real with you as your therapist and I encourage you to keep it real with me by just being yourself; if you are still trying to figure out who you are, that’s cool too, I’m down to help you explore what that might look like as well. As your therapist, I meet with you every week and work on your goals as a team because I believe you are the expert on your life and your experiences. I work using a combined approach, meaning I take from a lot of different modalities to best work with whatever your needs are at the moment. Alternatively, if there is a specific form of therapy that you like and want to use for our work together, I am more than happy to provide that as well.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Many people view as taboo or something that should never be discussed, I believe that the opposite is true and that the stigma around mental health should be broken. My stance on mental health is not "what's wrong with you?" but more in the direction of "what happened to you?" I dislike working from the medical model and see you as the whole person you are, rather than the diagnosis that might be given to you. I believe in using any and all resources that are helpful for you, while trying to involve carceral systems and hospitalization as little as I possibly can.
