About My Clients
My clients come to therapy looking for a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where all of you is seen, heard, respected, and empowered in working towards your goals. While I work with many different populations and concerns, my areas of specialty include working with queer, trans, and/or neurodivergent individuals, families, and relationships. I am queer- and trans-affirming, neurodivergent-affirming, kink-affirming, and poly-affirming.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is affirming, trauma-informed, is rooted in an anti-oppressive framework, and draws from narrative therapy, mindfulness, and attachment theory. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, I work with each of my clients to create a space that works for them - it might be focused on specific goals, self-acceptance, and/or identity exploration. I also take a social-justice oriented approach to therapy which, for me, means that my work does not stop when our session ends. In session, we will name, explore, and challenge systems of oppression that have impacted your narrative and the narrative of others. Outside of sessions, I continue this dialogue in my own life, am actively engaged in social justice movements, and am committed to my own ongoing learning and growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that finding a therapist who is a good fit for you is essential in having a positive therapy experience. I am definitely not the stereotypical therapist you might see on TV - our sessions will probably have both laughter and tears, I will happily look at the meme/tweet/tiktok that resonated with you, and there is a good chance one of my cats will jump into view to introduce themselves, but most importantly, we will work towards your goals together. If you think I might be a good fit for you or have questions for me, please reach out. I look forward to hearing from you!
