About My Clients
My clients are adults (though I have a focus on folks ages 18-35) who are experiencing life transitions such as beginning college, entering the workforce, navigating the beginning or end of relationships, and exploring their identity, as well as those who are noticing patterns of behavior that may no longer be helpful for them. I work to create a space for clients to feel heard, respected, and valued as they begin a journey of exploration, discovery, and growth
My Background and Approach
I help clients to define what is important to them and how they’d like to feel in regards to their emotional health, and utilize evidence-based therapeutic practices that are tailored to their specific needs. I value teaching and practicing skills that focus on managing stress, anxiety, low mood, and feelings of overwhelm and can be used outside of the therapy hour. I often use components of motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, problem-solving therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness in her work with clients. I also value the connection between mind and body, and enjoy supporting my clients as they develop healthy self-care practices.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I work to ensure that therapy moves at a pace that is safe and sustainable for my clients, while also thoughtfully partnering with them to explore opportunities for growth and change. Social justice values deeply impact my work as a therapist as well as who I am as a human being and how I show up in the world around me. I have worked in a variety of settings - primary care, juvenile justice, child welfare, academia/research, career coaching, and campus life - and value the myriad experiences and lessons learned in each of them.
