About My Clients
I have a range of experience working with clients of all ages, but particularly specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. My areas of expertise include: depression and anxiety disorders, school-related challenges (including managing symptoms of ADD/ADHD), special education and learning needs, social skills, emotion regulation, and life transitions at school and home.
My Background and Approach
I use an eclectic approach in my work with clients, providing a mixture of psychodynamic therapeutic work alongside solution-focused skill-building, somatic strategies, relational and emotional skill building, creative therapies, and traditional talk-based work. When working with children, I incorporate play therapy often. I am certified and trained in Sand Play therapy, and love to use this modality with clients of all ages!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I hold a firm belief that my clients already have all the tools they need to navigate life’s ups and downs, it is simply a matter of uncovering these tools and helping my clients learn to use them in new and healthier ways. I seek to support my clients on their healing journeys - by helping them to understand their emotions and behaviors with new insight, improve their relational dynamics with others, and build a repertoire of coping and self-regulation skills for use in their everyday lives. When I am not in the office, I love spending time outside, reading historical fiction and poetry, and trying a new craft or DIY project.
