About My Clients
My ideal client is someone who is ready to step out of the cycle of anxiety, overthinking, and depression. I work well with folks navigating OCD, panic attacks, phobias, and other difficult feelings. You might feel stuck in your head — analyzing, seeking certainty, or avoiding discomfort — but you’re also thoughtful, motivated, and willing to try a different approach. Together, we’ll build skills that help you master your fear and create a life where you're in the driver's seat.
My Background and Approach
My approach to helping clients is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This framework helps clients change their relationship to their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences. For individuals struggling with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, I offer a choice between two different treatment options: Exposure and Response Prevention, a "face your fears" approach that is considered the gold-standard for OCD; and Inference-Based CBT, an alternative, non-exposure based approach to dealing with OCD that looks at how obsessive doubts are formed and maintained.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I grew up in a place where providers with experience and training in dealing with severe anxiety and OCD were few and far between. Conditions like OCD, panic disorder, agoraphobia, and social anxiety can be terribly isolating and frightening to experience, and many clients go through years of therapy feeling like no one really "gets" their issue or is able to truly help them. I became a therapist because I wanted to help individuals with anxiety and OCD - these are highly treatable conditions, and with the right approach, clients can experience real relief from their symptoms. I also believe that therapy should be affordable to everyone, even those needing specialized treatment, which is why I offer sliding scale rates to all clients.
