About My Clients
I deeply connect with folks who may have self-critical parts, who have fears about making mistakes, about not being worthy or enough, who worry often about how to do things "right." I understand folks who may feel different than others because their brain works in unique ways. I hold space for complex trauma, deeply felt grief, and the complexity of holding space for oneself in a world that doesn't often hold space for you.
My Background and Approach
The thread that runs through all my clinical and work experience has been working to understand and help heal trauma. I believe that one size does NOT fit all, and the way that we each individually process trauma is different based on our personal experiences, brains, and where we are in our lives. Because of this, I have come to use many different approaches and modalities and tailor them to a person's needs, but my favorites tend to be: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I use my capacities outside of work to participate in mutual aid, engage in advocacy, participate in community organizing, and raise awareness about causes I feel passionate about. I believe we are all deserving of empathy, kindness, respect, access to safe shelter, food, medical care. I believe in a world where we can be stewards of the earth and of community.
