About My Clients
I believe that every person, no matter their age, deserves to have a space where they are unconditionally accepted. I work with children (ages 2+), teens, young adults and families provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for my clients to come as they are and untangle life’s complexities. Common experiences that I have worked with include Autism, ADHD, anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, attachment, life transitions, parenting, and adoption and permanency.
My Background and Approach
I work to provide a safe, culturally responsive space for individuals and families, am social and racial justice oriented and LGBTQIA+ affirming. Additionally, I hold space for individuals of all abilities and identities. I operate from an attachment-based, trauma informed lens and often incorporate play and creativity within the therapy space. When working with families, I utilize a whole-family approach to partner with parents, creating family-centered parenting strategies while also holding space for their children’s social and emotional needs. I am informed by my experience in settings such as outpatient community mental health, preschool day treatment, shelter and residential treatment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all feelings are valid (even the uncomfortable ones) and I will work with you to find self compassion, discover connection and identify your inner strengths. I love bringing playful and creative elements into the therapy room and believe that laughter and delight are important elements to the healing process. I work to empower my clients and will advocate fiercely for them when necessary. I am passionate about partnering with interdisciplinary care providers such as medical professionals and school teams in order to provide whole-person care. If you would like to see if we would work well together, I warmly invite you to give me a call. Choosing to go to therapy and making this first call can be difficult; know that I am already here, believing in you.
