My Background and Approach
I’ve trained in relational psychodynamic therapy with children and adults, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. In our work, we'll make space to be curious about feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and dynamics that often happen out of awareness to help you navigate life with greatet agency and authenticity. I believe healing happens when we reconnect with the parts of ourselves we've hidden or pushed away and through having new experiences with others.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
All through high school and college, I competed in speech and debate, where I often used my platform to advocate for social causes important to me. After graduating, I spent time coaching inmates in debate and advocacy at a correctional center in Idaho. These experiences have shaped my thinking about therapy - I will meet you where you’re at and always believe in your capacity to change. With all my clients, I work from a trauma-informed lens and prioritize understanding the individual within the context of their lived experiences, including broader sociocultural systems.
