About My Clients
Whether you’ve been feeling weighed down by anxiety, depression, or gender dysphoria, haunted by past trauma, want to make big life changes but don’t know where to start, desire to set stronger boundaries in relationships, are having an existential crisis every other week after doomscrolling, or simply need a space to process the stressors of being alive right now, through our work we will create and enact a plan together so you don’t have to deal with any of these feelings alone.
My Background and Approach
My work uses a blend of modalities tailored to your unique healing goals by utilizing CBT, IFS, Feminist Therapy, DBT, and somatic work informed by yoga therapy and Polyvagal theory. In our first two sessions, we’ll collaborate on a personalized plan combining your goals with my guidance to create a roadmap for recovery together. I am committed to providing a safe and consistent therapeutic relationship where you will have a compassionate witness to all of your pain, and someone to cheer on every success from getting a new job, to getting out of bed on an especially hard day. Through providing an egalitarian, trauma-conscious space for unpacking your emotions, thoughts, behaviors, intersectional identities, and relationships, we will work collaboratively to create more authentic and empowered beliefs and narratives to liberate you from feeling stuck by cultivating skills for living the gentle life you always deserved and are proud to live.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My work is rooted in the foundational beliefs that the personal is political, and that individual healing is inseparable from the collective liberation of all beings. It is my responsibility to provide culturally competent care, viewing mental health experiences in the context of their sociopolitical and cultural environments. As a queer therapist, I am committed to providing queer and trans-affirming care and advocacy to my community. I believe gender-affirming care saves lives. As a disabled therapist, I combine my education, training, and lived experience to support you in navigating the challenges of surviving in an ableist world. As a poet and neuroscience nerd, I am passionate about braiding together science and story to deepen your relationship with yourself by supporting you in gaining insight into how your brain works and teaching you skills to change patterns that are obstacles in living your life as the truest version of yourself.
