About My Clients
Are you adjusting to change? Transitioning is definitely not comfortable. Strengthening individuals & families by building resilience and character is critical. Providing & implement strategies to improve cognitive processes and behaviors to build healthier relationships is an absolute must. Anxiety, depression, divorce, grief, unresolved issues of hurt, guilt, rejection & traumatic experiences are our reality. l celebrate that you have decided to do the work to overcome your life challenges.
My Background and Approach
I have a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling as of October 13, 2012 from Webster University at Myrtle Beach, SC. I have provided substance abuse/mental health/spiritual counseling for almost 10 years. I offer an array of services that include but are not limited to therapy for parenting, individual, group, family, and couples. I offer co-morbid counseling services for adolescents, adults, as well as the LGBT population. I view every client as a unique and will treat each client as such. I will help each client develop his or her own individual counseling goals. I believe that counseling should provide a safe and productive place to share and explore new ways of thinking. During our sessions, I will use several therapeutic approaches. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gestalt Therapy, as well as person-centered individualized approaches.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My life is driven by unconditional mercy and grace therefore I will provide a safe environment to share and explore old & new ways of thinking. I have numerous life experiences that has led me to be compassionate for the clients I serve. I have been through divorce, death, rejection, substance use , emotional abuse, rejection, identity crisis, depression and the list goes on. One of my favorite scriptures that I live by is: I am grateful that God always makes it possible for Christ to lead us to victory!2 Corinthians 2:14 Currently I am an ordained Pastor of Love Conquers Outreach . I do not discriminate. We all are evolving to become a better productive individuals not only for society but for the well being of ourselves.
