I work with parents on learning and improving effective parenting techniques. I help you learn what works best for your child and how to implement those techniques consistently. My goal is to help you build a better relationship between you and your child by helping you understand your child's behavior, setting appropriate boundaries, validating emotions, and using tools to manage those challenging behaviors.

Adolescence is challenging time in a child's life, as it is a time of transition for both the parent and the child. I help adolescents navigate this transition by working on emotional expression and communication. I also work collaboratively with parents to address the effectiveness of their parenting style and quality of relationship with their child. I treat issues including that phase of life transition, trouble with school and/or friendships, and improving social skills and communication.

I specialize in treating children with difficulties regulating their emotions who have challenging behaviors including attachment, ADHD, ODD, and Autism. I work with both the children and their families to provide effective strategies to manage their behavior. I work with parents so they better understand the meaning behind the behavior and what the child is trying to communicate. I also provide ADHD evaluations and developmental assessments for diagnosing Autism.

Children express themselves and learn through play. By using play therapy, I provide a safe space where children can feel comfortable expressing their needs, working out their concerns, and learning new skills. I also teach parents how to play with their children in a way that builds stronger relationships.

I use a psychodynamic approach along with attachment theory when trying to understand the underlying causes of behavior. I look at how our early relationships shape our behavior and how this affects our current relationships. I help my clients understand these patterns and give them tools to better manage themselves and navigate their world more effectively.

Even though I may use a psychodynamic approach to conceptualize a case, I work with my clients to help them implement practical CBT skills and strategies. We work together on solution focused strategies to replace negative thoughts and challenging or unwanted behaviors with more rational positive thoughts and appropriate behaviors.

Adolescence is a difficult time of transition for both parents and the child. I work with the adolescent on improving emotional expression and communication. I also work with the parent in understanding the changing needs of their child, addressing their parenting style, and improving their relationship. I work with concerns such as school, friendships, relationships, life transitions, managing stress, anxiety, depression, self-harm, and trauma.
