About My Clients
I recognize the systemic barriers adding to mental health issues for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and marginalized communities, and I've dedicated my personal practice to expanding access to counseling in every way I can. My Background and Approach
I’m a bilingual (Spanish and English), first- generation daughter of immigrants. I am here to meet you where you are. I lean toward a person-centered therapy approach and view the process as a collaboration. Changes will happen when you are ready and feel comfortable. I believe in science (Nacho Libre voice) as well as spiritual care, and these beliefs are reflected in my counseling style. For certain clients and situations, EMDR is an effective way to help process unresolved trauma. I'm a big proponent of nourishing yourself from the inside out, with mindful routines that keep you in tune with where you are and how you feel. Let’s work together to identify what works best for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value people and collaboration. I believe you have the skills within you which can help you gain more people. I am here to help strength those skills, at your pace. My experience as a social justice advocate and work with immigrants is very important to me. Therefore, I see therapy through a Feminist/Person-Centered/Systemic approach.
