About My Clients
I value diversity and welcome anyone. I especially enjoy working with adolescents to effectively manage depression and anxiety symptoms, irritability, reactivity, relational stressors, communication issues, grief and loss, and self-esteem issues. I also like teaching skills and strategies to their parents and caregivers to they can feel resourced when supporting their young loved one outside of therapy.
My Background and Approach
I am a trained clinical social worker licensed in Minnesota with over 15 years experience in behavioral health. I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults, parents, and adults providing in-home and community-based care. I have significant experience facilitating Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for adults living with personality disorders as well as adolescents struggling with mood disorders and self-harm behaviors. I approach therapy with genuine curiosity, respect, and transparency. I am approachable and direct. I will listen and hold you accountable to goals you have identified. I will balance meeting you where you are at while pushing you gently toward goal completion. I provide therapy in a safe and predictable setting that is free from judgment. You are the expert of your lived experiences, and I am available to nurture the growth you are seeking.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Healthcare needs to be inclusive and accessible. Therapy must be supportive and compassionate. I believe that therapy is most effective when the process is collaborative and customized to the individual. Every age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, SES, disability, and body is welcome here.
