Anxiety is complex and scary. It effects most of us at some point in our lives. Anxiety and worry can come from external sources or can seem to come from nowhere. I use Mindfulness based approaches to help reduce the intensity of anxious feelings and promote self compassion around anxiety. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients replace unhealthy/unrealistic thought patterns with healthy and realistic ways of thinking about ourselves and our worlds.

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients to first accept what they do not have control over. This involves being present with your inner experiences and making space for uncomfortable or painful thoughts and feelings. Second, is to motivate and guide clients to commit to taking action that is congruent with their values.

With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy I aid clients in identifying and replacing inaccurate or negative thinking patterns. By replacing these thought patterns with more realistic or positive thought patterns, clients can view challenges with more clarity and respond more effectively.

I use Mindfulness-based Therapy to guide the client in being more present with their thoughts and feelings and to approach them in a non-judgmental way. By increasing our awareness of our thoughts and feelings, we are better able to engage with aspects of ourselves, learn to shift our tone, and choose how to respond.
