About My Clients
I love collaborating with clients that are embarking on their healing journey. It is important to have the understanding that healing is not linear and will not always feel comfortable, but is beneficial to you in unique ways. What benefits might you experience when pursing healing? Benefits may include: learning to love and accept yourself again, creating healthier relationships, becoming more secure in your being, feeling less anxious, enjoying the present, and looking forward to the future.
My Background and Approach
As a trauma-informed counselor and EMDR Therapist, I have knowledge of and experience with various methods and skills that can assist clients in their healing. I approach each therapeutic relationship as a collaborative experience, to create a treatment path that is most appropriate for your needs. I have experience assisting with anxiety, feelings of panic and/or intense emotions, the processing of painful experiences and/or trauma, physical symptoms that emerge from unresolved mental/emotional pain, difficulties within relationships (including attachment concerns, narcissistic abuse, etc.), inner child work, and more. Additionally, as my goal is to tailor treatment to each individual's needs, I have experience integrating spirituality, creative techniques, meditation, breath-work, and more into my work with clients. The overall goal that I set for myself, as the counselor, is to assist in your healing - however that may present for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
While I have my own personal beliefs (as we all do), I enter into every therapeutic relationship with an open mind and an energy of acceptance. I view my life through the following lens: God as my guide, family as priority, work-life balance as dire, and healing as necessary. I am an advocate for mental health awareness and healing, both in my personal and professional life.
