About My Clients

Therapy is successful when you have a therapist who understands you AND knows how to help you. I work with men and women navigating relationships, marriage, anxiety/depression, major life transitions, and family conflicts all while trying to integrate two very different cultures – the one we’re born into and the one we’re living in. As a South Asian woman and a therapist for over 7 years, I understand how culture plays a huge role in our unique challenges and expectations.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, and Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. I currently teach Couple & Family Therapy, Multicultural Counseling, and Clinical Practicum. I help bicultural individuals, couples, & families sort through current and past struggles to live a more balanced and fulfilling life. My approach involves exploring past experiences and relationships and how they impact your current emotions and behaviors. I work with individuals, couples and families in either long-term insight-oriented therapy or short-term solution-focused therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a 1.5-generation immigrant, I understand successfully integrating your bicultural identity is challenging because I’ve been there too. Through my own experiences, life transitions, and training, I found my passion for working with others in collectivistic cultures. I work with individuals and couples who want to explore their bicultural identity, establish boundaries in their families and relationships, and navigate the challenges of interracial or interfaith relationships. I immigrated to the United States as a young kid, and I hope to bring awareness about the importance of mental health to other immigrant communities by offering culturally informed therapy.
