About My Clients
At times life can feel overwhelming, isolating or riddled with anxiety and depression. I try to create a space that's non-judgmental, encouraging, and insightful to promote growth and understanding. I approach therapy relationally, viewing the client as the expert of their life as we explore it together; my role is to facilitate the journey. I assist clients in gaining the skills to make self-discoveries and new ways to cope.
My Background and Approach
Psychotherapy is a tool people can use to gain support, express themselves, and obtain insight into life’s troubles. My broad scope of training allows me to integrate psychodynamic theory, narrative therapy, and behavioral interventions into my therapy practice. I believe in a client-centered treatment and tailor interventions to fit the individual client’s needs. The depth of psychodynamic therapy can help people find words for things that have gone unsaid and discuss ideas that have been too threatening to think about. While a guided focus on thoughts and behaviors allows a client and me to explore how one’s actions and assumptions about the world shape how we view ourselves and others. I help people to see the world through a new lens and encourage trying new behaviors which opens the possibility of new positive outcomes.
