About My Clients
Guided by their wisdom, my clients seek to build a gracious and liberating space that invites reflection, learning, connection,and observation of all their parts with love and gentleness. They seek to deepen their relationship with their core self and others. They no longer want their past or recent traumatic experiences to activate constant states of loneliness, anger, sadness, irritability, shame, and/or confusion. Embracing hope, they innvite more clarity, peace, and balance to their life.
My Background and Approach
Professionally, I have worked with women, young adults, and teens in different capacities such as a former public school educator, child advocate, social worker, and currently as a licensed psychotherapist. These experiences allowed me to walk this earth with humilty, presence, and compassion. I also offer a culturally senstive approach that draws from my experiences as a Latina, Immigrant woman in this world and also from my time volunteering and working in Guatemala and Mexico. I specialize in Trauma and work with a trauma informed approach. I am EMDR-Trained, TCYM-Certified, and trained in Somatic Experiencing, interventions that focus on using movement and the wisdom of the body to support in processing traumatic experiences and managing symptom of PTSD, Anxiety, and Depression activated by the trauma. Additionally, my approach centers on Liberation Psychology, which is guided by values that emphasize social justice, equity, human dignity, and community.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My work center the Land and its stories as a source of medicine. My work acknowledges that the loss of land is one of the first and deepest wounds. A process of continous grieving and mourning can accompany us because of that wound. Additionally the displacement felt can create a constant search for home state of being that impacts the life journey deeply in both challenging and beauitful ways.
