About My Clients
I work with adults and older adults facing sleep problems, menopause or midlife changes, chronic stress, relationship strain, anxiety, depression, or the practical shifts of aging and retirement. Many clients use Medicare or live in PSYPACT states and prefer telehealth. I also see people with health-related stress or high-pressure work backgrounds who want direct, no-nonsense support focused on what actually helps.
My Background and Approach
Licensed clinical psychologist (PsyD) with 18+ years in emergency medicine. Fully licensed in Missouri, Massachusetts, and Virginia; PSYPACT authorized for telehealth. Medicare accepted. I use elements of CBT, emotion-focused therapy, and logotherapy. Sessions are collaborative and practical: we identify patterns that keep problems going, address the emotions and values involved, and build concrete steps that fit your life. I specialize in aging and seniors, insomnia, weight management, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and chronic stress. Therapy focuses on resilience and meaningful change—better sleep, clearer boundaries, or more ease with life transitions. Reach out for a free 15-minute consultation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value practical, evidence-based care that respects people’s real lives. Between a high-demand religious background as a teenager and a career in emergency medicine, I became grounded in science and direct approaches that help people build resilience rather than avoid hard things. My own life includes long-term caregiving for family, off-grid living in the Ozarks, and years in emergency medicine before becoming a psychologist. Those experiences shape how I work: I stay calm under pressure, focus on what is useful, and keep strong boundaries. I believe therapy should feel collaborative and straightforward. Clients deserve clear feedback, concrete tools, and respect for the strengths they already have. Whether someone is navigating sleep changes, relationship strain, aging, or high-stress work, I aim to help them move toward meaningful change that fits their values and circumstances—not a one-size-fits-all script.
