About My Clients
I work with adults seeking growth and change. Frequent issues are grief and loss, neglect or abuse, problematic relationships, lack of relationships, generational conflict, and parenting/grandparenting/step-parenting.
My Background and Approach
I believe we have to know our own beliefs, desires, goals and dreams in order to improve our lives. We also have to find a way to face our most painful narratives in order to heal. I work in a warm, non-judgmental way to listen to and understand your concerns, teach skills to help you in the short term, and explore with you the deeper level issues that are holding you back from a richer, more fulfilling life. I have over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist in private practice. My approach is psychodynamic, creative and relational. I have special training in Modern Analysis, group therapy, eco therapy and grief and loss. I often incorporate art and nature in therapy with clients who are interested.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
A few thoughts to share—I believe the best time for healing is now. If help is available there’s no point in doing the hard work alone. We are wounded in relationship, and we heal in relationship. Putting our life story into words creates order and understanding out of chaos. My practice is open to and supportive of all races, genders, LGBTQ+ individuals and adults of all ages, sizes, religions. It is important to find a therapist you can work well with. If we aren’t a good fit we will figure that out, and I will help you find someone who is.
