Tammy Alsing

Among my diverse professional experiences, my professional passion has always been rooted in helping those who have experienced great loss. For nearly two decades I worked in Hospice and bereavement care. One would say this makes me an expert in the area of grief and loss, but I say that this experience made me an expert in life and living. On my path to round out my experience working with trauma, loss, and PTSD, I began serving those who serve our country. As a Military Family Life Counselor, since 2015, I’ve had the privilege and honor of supporting military service members and their families as they cope with challenges unique to military life. I consider myself an integrative therapist blending various therapeutic approaches based on the individual needs of my clients with an emphasis on cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and person-centered therapies, along with mindfulness and motivational methods to help my clients achieve balance and wellness in their lives.

I believe that balance is the key to a wholehearted self and a fulfilling life. As such, I like to think that I offer my clients a straightforward and direct approach, balanced with acceptance, compassion and patience. I encourage my clients to take an active role in the therapeutic process, which requires a willingness to replace unhealthy thoughts and behaviors with more productive ones that empower them to move forward in life. I have learned that self-love is the greatest love of all and is necessary for becoming the best version of your self. Together, we’ll build a trusting relationship where you’ll feel safe to work at your own pace.
