About My Clients
I work with adults who are feeling overwhelmed and exhausted by the high expectations they have for themselves. They are overly responsible and conscientious and yet never feel good enough. They often compare themselves to others or have a strong need to be good or liked. While outwardly looking like they have it all together, inside they feel frustrated and misunderstood. They often struggle with anxiety or unresolved trauma and they're ready to understand themselves better and heal.
My Background and Approach
Sometimes the messages we receive when we’re little get internalized, and we continue to follow the same narrative as we get older. Maybe you've learned to say yes as a way to feel loved and accepted, when you really want to say no. Potentially you worry and try to problem solve every scenario you can think of. Anxiety and trauma show up in all kinds of ways. I help my clients to gain more insight and curiosity into how they have been coping. Through an Internal Family Systems approach clients begin to find more understanding and compassion for themselves in order to heal. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor practicing in Idaho via telehealth. I graduated from Boise State University with a M.A. in Counseling and have been serving the community in various settings ever since. I have a broad range of counseling experience with my specialty area being in trauma and anxiety. I receive continuing education every year.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I always approach my work and life from a social justice mindset. I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming counselor. I honor diversity and support each individual’s uniqueness. I strive towards continual self-reflection and embrace culturally sensitive care to all people. I find it a privilege to be a part of my clients healing journey.
