About My Clients

You may have been carrying the weight of too much for too long—overthinking everything, trying to hold it all together while quietly unraveling inside. Whether it is past trauma, relentless anxiety, or the numbing fog of depression, you're ready for real change—not just a Band-Aid. Through an authentic relationship and effective strategies, real change is achievable. If you're open to exploring both the roots and the patterns of what’s holding you back in safe space, look no further!

My Background and Approach

Despite being a therapist, I struggled for a long time with my identity, passion, and purpose due to mental health. My experiences and healing solidified my desire to help others. No matter what is causing the chaos in your life, I am here to help you on your journey. I am comfortable and confident working with a variety of clients and diagnoses, but I fit best with clients that match my style: direct, casual, empowering, and encouraging, and I am not afraid to challenge you when needed to help you achieve your goals. During the intake, we will dive into your expectations for therapy, symptoms, and goals, and collaborate on a treatment plan. As a person-centered therapist, I believe every individual has the capability to self-heal with the right support, so I blend modalities and skills to keep you on track with your goals. We will explore how your mind and body respond to and influence your mental health and learn skills to cope while working to heal and process at your own pace.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a teen and into adulthood, I struggled with anxiety and depression. Through my own journey, I learned how these normal emotions can grow to be these weights that hold you back from having the life you want. I am intrigued by how our mind and body respond to our experiences and heal from them, but I also understand the importance of concrete skills to enact tangible change. I believe that a relationship with one's therapist is fundamental to one's healing journey and should be comfortable, friendly, and productive. I work to build a relationship with each client that allows space for them to feel safe sharing their thoughts and feelings without judgment, encouraging the work to be done, and for each person to leave every session feeling as though they are closer to achieving their goals. Through my virtual practice, Suriel Therapy Co., I help clients take steps toward satisfaction with themselves and their lives, finding peace and purpose, and enjoying what life has to offer.
