About My Clients

I work with adults who are experiencing challenges with concentration, anxiety, eating/body image, depressed mood, flashbacks related to trauma, irritability or a combination of these factors. Many of my clients are amazingly kind, generous, and driven individuals who hold themselves to high standards. Often our work is focused on increasing flexibility, building trust, acceptance and self-compassion. We pivot, when needed, we laugh when it is appropriate. This process is not linear.

My Background and Approach

I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is the key. That's why after a couple sessions, I make sure to check-in with you to see whether this relationship is working for you. For me, this is incredibly important because not every therapist and client are a "match" and that's okay. We won't know this though if we don't try though, right? Like any relationship, I believe transparency, trust, and respect are the foundation. Therapy, however, is different in that the relationship is one which fosters safety and security to explore yourself -- including your fears, insecurities, hopes and dreams while also creating avenues of growth, adaptation, and change that align with your values. I have been working in the mental health field for almost a decade and what keeps me in this field is the connection I am able to make with my clients towards catharsis and healing from trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, and depression.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Mental wellness is at the core of our health. If you feel like crap then it permeates everything and makes it impossible to engage and be present in life in the way we'd like to be. I believe that mental health therapy should be accessible to everyone and not "out of reach" or an "after thought." As a Latina woman, I've often seen the stigma that is attached in the Latino (and other minority) communities in seeking mental health help and the shame that generates. It is my desire that you never feel ashamed, stigmatized, or feel the need to hide that you need help in this area. We all get stuck and need to pivot in our lives (me included!)
