About My Clients
Are you trying your best to manage anxiety or stress? Preparing for changes - a new job or a major life decision or change? Or maybe you feel overwhelmed by your child's food allergy diagnosis and could benefit from support to help you manage the anxiety you're feeling about raising a child with life-threatening food allergies? No matter why you're seeking support, my role is to help you gain clarity, tap into your own strengths and build the skills you need move forward.
My Background and Approach
With a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, I have over 20 years of clinical experience. I've worked with individuals, couples, and families throughout my career, and currently focus on working with women, moms, and parents of children managing allergic conditions. I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with my clients. ACT focuses helping people mindfully notice their thoughts and feelings, and then purposefully choose actions that are aligned with their values, even during stressful and challenging moments in life. I find that ACT helps people create a new relationship with anxiety and deal with stressors more effectively.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am nationally recognized as a thought leader in the food allergy counseling niche, and am the founder of the Academy of Food Allergy Counseling and The Food Allergy Counselor resource website.
