About My Clients
I work with adults facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, personal growth, and life transitions. Rather than viewing you as a diagnosis, I see mental health on a spectrum of normal behavior—imbalances often arise as a response to overwhelming or difficult circumstances. Within a therapeutic environment tailored to your needs, my goal is to help you tap into your natural resilience as a foundation for your wellness.
My Background and Approach
I offer Art Therapy to help identify your goals and empower your journey of growth and healing. I may also lend other evidenced-based treatments as they align with your goals, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Solution Focused Therapy. My approach is compassionate, warm, playful and direct. With training in both mainstream and alternative practices, my intention is to offer you a balanced therapeutic relationship, so that you are seen as a whole person. In this way I invite you to consider all aspects of yourself: body, emotions, mind, and spirit.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I see mental health disorders on a spectrum of human behavior; we develop imbalance when faced with challenging circumstances. Within a supportive and therapeutic environment, that is unique to you, your natural resilience will guide you back into balance. Art making helps with this in several unique ways. It honors the integrity of who you are and allows both of us to really “see” your current distress, confusion, joy or pain. Making art also offers you a therapeutic relationship with something dependable, trustworthy, and available. Finally, imagery that emerges spontaneously often reveals new sources of strength or new possibilities for positive change. The unconscious becomes a source of useful information, strength, creativity, and guidance.
