About My Clients
You matter. Healing is hard, but you’re worth it! If food feels stressful, your brain won’t slow down, or you’re tired of feeling stuck in your body, you’re not alone. I work with college students, young adults, and athletes navigating eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, and body image concerns. Healing is possible, and I’d love to walk with you through it! You may feel like you don’t deserve help but you do and I’m really excited to meet you.
My Background and Approach
I’m a resident in counseling based in Charlottesville, VA, passionate about walking alongside teens, college students, and young adults navigating eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, and body image concerns. My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and aligned with Health at Every Size (HAES), always tailored to your unique needs and story. I’m trained in EMDR, and bring in movement-based and somatic strategies when helpful. I’m working towards becoming a Certified Personal Trainer, and I love helping clients rebuild trust with their bodies in a way that feels safe and empowering. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a mother-baby nurse, and my own recovery from an eating disorder gives me deep empathy for the vulnerability and courage it takes to heal. Whether we meet in person in Charlottesville, over telehealth, or on a walk, I offer a space that’s relational, nonjudgmental, and grounded in compassion. You don’t have to do this alone
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy is a space where you can fully feel, be yourself, and even have fun because therapy is about a real relationship between two humans. It’s not about forcing your way through. It’s about learning to show yourself kindness through the process. All trauma and experiences are valid. There’s no timeline, no “sick enough,” and no one right way to heal. You are already worthy of care that’s specific for you. Finding joy in movement and knowing your worth isn’t tied to restriction, weight, or how “sick” you feel is possible, and life-giving! Eating disorders are not a choice, but you can choose to heal. My approach honors HAES, body diversity, and self-compassion. All backgrounds and beliefs are welcome here. My Christian faith is important to me, and I offer faith integration when desired. I also have experience supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. You deserve to be seen, heard, and honored exactly as you are.
