About My Clients
Dealing with constant worry, anxiety, or self-doubt can feel like an uphill battle. Events from your past might be affecting your day-to-day life, causing you to carry unnecessary guilt, shame, or fear. Maybe you feel like, no matter what you do, you simply aren’t good enough. Or maybe you’ve reached the end of your rope with flashbacks, nightmares, sleep issues, or anxiety attacks. I can help you heal from the things that keep you up at night.
My Background and Approach
Because trauma work is difficult and often not a fun experience, I help you create coping skills prior to going through your trauma to make sure you aren't leaving session with an "open wound." We create these coping skills to help you during your week as well in case those intrusive memories pop up. My goals include helping you desensitize your traumatic memories, help find origins of negative core beliefs, and change those beliefs to positive ones. This often helps my clients have a more positive outlook on life and often improves their self-esteem. I will help you by connecting body sensations with thoughts as clients often come to me with panic in their bodies without any logical explanation why. I teach an approach that helps you listen to what you need in that moment. With my approach, I will help you to be better able to feel more in control and help yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I love helping people through trauma because I believe anyone can heal with enough time and care. In my own life, I've worked through some of the things I found to be traumatic with EMDR and it has helped me live a fuller life. I believe that all trauma does not look the same.
