About My Clients

I welcome all clients, and specialize in working with BIPOC adults, particularly those struggling with racial and sexual identity, anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, body image, compassion fatigue, and burnout. I am sex- and body-positive, supporting healthy relationships in all forms. At the core of my practice is holistic awareness, trauma-informed care, and a commitment to collective liberation.

My Background and Approach

As a biracial queer Japanese-American woman who grew up in both individualist and collectivist cultures, I understand firsthand the feeling of not belonging completely, as well as the liberation that stems from “doing the work” and moving beyond resiliency and survival to a state of safety and calm. My approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, intersectionality, and anti-oppression. I believe strongly in the mind-body-spirit connection and draw from a range of modalities including Systems Theory, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Attachment Theory. I have over a decade of social justice-related experience and hold a B.A. in Global Affairs and Conflict Analysis and Resolution; I will be graduating with my Masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of Washington in June of 2023.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

While pursuing therapy can be daunting, I believe leaning into discomfort and processing difficult emotions and experiences can ultimately open up new possibilities and lead to a deeper understanding of one’s self and values. An individual’s healing work resounds across one’s family, community, and the larger collective. Your healing matters! I look forward to holding space for you and consider it an honor to be a part of your healing journey.
