About My Clients
Do you want to increase your self-awareness, improve how you manage your emotions, learn to be kinder to yourself, set boundaries with people in your life, understand your needs and practice better self-care? I am here to help you with that and more. I work with young and middle aged adults to who are functioning in their day to day life but perhaps feel anxious, lost, or unhappy, are dissatisfied with their relationships, or feel weighed down by their past.
My Background and Approach
I am passionate about journeying with others on their path of self-discovery, healing, empowerment, & transformation. My approach is based on your specific issues and needs. In general, I tend to help people understand how their past influences their present, process through past and current stressors, and develop healthier thnking patterns and self-compassion. I am also trained in EMDR, a structured therapy for reprocessing distressing life events and negative core beliefs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My mission as a therapist is to create a safe and nurturing space for you to be fully seen and heard in order to work through challenges that are keeping you stuck from living a more meaningful and authentic life. Whether it is issues that stem back to childhood or recent life transitions, we all have experiences that require healing and growth. No matter what our stories are and what change we want to make in our lives, I believe there is nothing more powerful than to do that in connection. Some words I would use to describe how I view my work with clients is: collaborative, compassionate, client-centered, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive and inclusive, mindful and embodied, and empowerment and strengths-based. Starting therapy for the first time or with a new therapist can be a daunting and vulnerable experience. I know because I've been there.
