About My Clients
I have most experience working with symptoms of trauma, anxiety, & depression. I most enjoy working with clients between the ages 13-35. Working with those who are from more marginalized populations & concerns related to these areas (2S-LGBTQIA+ populations, women's issues, religious trauma, racism, physical health concerns/ disabilities, etc.) is a passion of mine, but I am happy to work with those who are not part of these populations as well.
My Background and Approach
I have most experience working with symptoms of trauma, anxiety, & depression. I most enjoy working with clients between the ages 13-35. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, & compassion, regardless of background. Working with those who are from more marginalized populations & concerns related to these areas (2S-LGBTQIA+ populations, women's issues, religious trauma, racism, physical health concerns/ disabilities, etc.) is a passion of mine, but I am happy to work with those who are not part of these populations as well. I will tailor our treatment plan to meet your specific needs. I do best with clients who have a main goal or focus they want to work on. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for trauma. I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for other mental health concerns, and am trained in Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, & compassion, regardless of background, and I am passionate about working with people from marginalized communities. Your experiences and emotions are always valid, but we can work to fix any unhealthy patterns in your reactions to those emotions and experiences. Your therapy will be based on YOUR beliefs, experiences, and goals - not on anyone else's, including my own. I like to get to the root cause of issues, rather than only focusing on current symptoms, and I do a lot of mental health education so that you can understand the science behind why you feel and act the way you do.
