About My Clients
My clients frequently seek therapy because they are feeling burned out or overwhelmed. Often my clients are the people who are quick to offer care and compassion toward others but struggle to apply that same care toward themselves. Sometimes this shows up as anxiety, difficulties with relationships, or struggling with food or body image. More than anything, my clients are wonderful people who are trying their best to create a life grounded in meaning and joy.
My Background and Approach
I've been working with clients on various concerns for about a decade now. I use a combination of approaches, since every person I work with has unique needs and their own style. I use a lot of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and self-compassion. All of these techniques are grounded in a feminist model that explores how our various identities play a role in how we experience and interact with the world around us.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are all inherently valuable, even on our worst days and that we always have the capacity to make meaningful changes. I also believe you have the strength and wisdom to help you grow and move toward the life you want to be living. All this being said, I recognize that there are systems at play that make it more or less difficult to do this based on various aspects of our identity (race, gender, sexual orientation, etc). Exploring the reality of these systems of oppression and privilege is important to consider in our own journey.
