My Background and Approach
I believe that the foundation of therapeutic work is creating a trusting, compassionate, and empathic relationship with my clients. I strive to create an environment where clients can be fully and authentically themselves and know they will be safe and supported in processing all aspects of their full humanity. Therapy looks different for everyone, and my goal is to the balance the sometimes challenging and uncomfortable work of transforming your life with moments of joy, laughter, and celebration. I enjoy helping my clients identify ways they can implement changes in their lives that help them achieve their goals. My style is to blend elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and trauma processing as well as emphasizing the importance of self-care and self-compassion, encouraging clients to develop healthy coping strategies that support their healing journey beyond the therapy room.
