About My Clients
Sy is currently accepting new therapy clients at sliding scale, self-pay rates for individuals and people in relationships. They have worked with clients of a range of identities, particularly those who identify as LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, disabled, or chronically ill. The topics Sy tends to focus on with clients include trauma, sexuality, attraction, interpersonal relationships, and individuals' relationships with their bodies.
My Background and Approach
Sy's lived experience as queer, trans, and nonbinary, disabled, chronically ill, neurodivergent, and a parent, have contributed to their ability to provide specialized care. Sy has a diverse range of professional experience, including case management with LGBTQ+ youth and young adults, clinical therapy with adults, work with local nonprofit social support organizations, and disability and workers rights advocacy. Sy has worked in entertainment, social services, fine arts, and medical prosthetics. Sy honors client experience by centering personal autonomy. Their experience in case management plays a role in their clinical work; Sy believes that therapy should hold space for emotional processing as well as connect people to community resources. Sy partners with their clients in their care, and sees their roles in community building as interconnected. Some of the approaches Sy utilizes include Internal Family Systems, somatics, psychodynamics, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
