About My Clients

You're the one who translated everything growing up — not just language, but values, expectations, versions of yourself. Now you're successful on the outside and exhausted on the inside. You're a first- or second-gen adult wrestling with anxiety, family guilt, people-pleasing, or the quiet grief of never fully belonging in either world. You don't need someone to explain your experience from scratch. You need a therapist who already gets it — and knows how to help you move through it.

My Background and Approach

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Pennsylvania, and I specialize in therapy for adult children of immigrants- first & second gen adults navigating anxiety, cultural identity, family pressure, and intergenerational trauma. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) alongside talk therapy. EMDR is especially effective for the kind of stress that lives in the body- the hypervigilance, chronic over-responsibility, anxiety that doesn't go away even when life looks good on paper. It gets at the root, not just the symptoms. My approach is direct and collaborative. I'm not here to pathologize your culture or tell you to cut off your family. I'm here to help you understand what you're carrying, where it came from, and how to move forward in a way that actually fits your life- not a westernized ideal of what healing is supposed to look like. Sessions are online across PA, which means wherever you are in the state, you don't have to choose between proximity and fit.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I'm a South Asian woman and a child of Indian immigrants. I grew up knowing what it means to hold two cultures at once. To love your family deeply while also quietly grieving the parts of yourself that got set aside to keep the peace. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you don't have to translate yourself. Where your family dynamics aren't treated as problems to fix, but as context to understand. Where healing doesn't mean abandoning where you came from. I believe the mental health world has a long way to go in serving immigrant communities and their children. Too much of what passes for "wellness" is built on individualistic, Western assumptions that simply don't fit our lives. I'm committed to changing that- one session, and one conversation at a time. I also believe you are allowed to want more. More peace. More room to breathe. A life that honors your roots and still belongs to you. That's not selfish. That's the whole point.
