About My Clients
I know that life can bring with it a sense of feeling overwhelmed in a world where so much is happening. Pressure to do right amidst feeling like everything has been turned upside down may leave you feeling alone, not sure how to navigate daily living and coping. My team and I are here to serve you through the ups and downs, to heal or grieve, improve within your life and relationships and to walk alongside you to come out the other side of any difficulties you are going through at this time
My Background and Approach
I am the owner of Life's Learning and have been in private practice for over 24 years. I have worked in agency settings for over 21 years. I am specialized in working with grief, loss and mourning, trauma and family of origin issues, anxiety, depression and much more. We offer counseling services to kids as young as 10 to adults in their senior years. Specialties range from couples counseling (Emotional Focused Therapy and Gottman), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (anxiety and depression), trauma treatment (EMDR), Grief and Mourning and Expressive Therapies (use of art, sandplay and play) with person centered principles.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that there is so much that we can learn from ourselves and each other through our stories. That our pasts impact our presents and that this also contributes to present beliefs, the stories we tell ourselves (true or not true) and how we walk through the world. Everyone has a purpose and should be valued and loved. The name of my practice is Life's Learning, with the idea that growing comes through healing and really taking a look at ourselves. My team and I show up in our community when there is tragedy, in support of counselors through various gatherings and training and advocate for suicide awareness.
