About My Clients

Have you ever had a thought that you couldn't get rid of that just seemed to follow you around wherever you went? Do you have a child who used to love hanging out with friends and now never seems to leave their room? If you answered "yes" to either (or both!) of these questions, I can help. I work with kids facing a variety of mental health concerns, as well as the caregivers helping them along the way. There's a lot to navigate as a child - let's figure it out together.

My Background and Approach

My job is to help you (or your child if you're the parent!) find and build-upon your own strengths and skills to tackle the problems you are facing with increased confidence. I hope at the end of our work together, you have a "toolbox" of skills to carry around with you at all times so you can get through whatever situations you face. Through compassionate and individualized care that is based in cultural humility, trauma-informed practices, and a strengths-based approach, kids and/or their caregivers can expect me to be their cheerleader, their confidant, and also the person who pushes them to be the best version of themselves. For the last six years, I have helped countless children and caregivers better understand their mental health and what they need to have it be the best it can be. We'll address the thoughts in your brain, the feelings in your body, and most importantly, we'll do it together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that children are more resilient and capable than the world believes them to be. I don't believe there is a feeling a child "can't handle" or a "bad behavior" (I don't even believe that exists - there's only behavior that either helps us toward our goals or inhibits us!) that they can't learn to handle a bit differently. Second, I believe that kindness for ALL people is important and I lead with this belief each day both inside my practice and out. There is no human who doesn't deserve compassion and understanding, regardless of the choices they have made and the person they have decided to be. Third, I believe in HAVING FUN with my clients! Therapy is hard work, but sometimes it's helpful to learn a skill through a silly dance, sing Taylor Swift when you process a breakup, and/or gossip about the latest trends on TikTok. I'm here to push you, but it's possible to grow AND have fun while doing so.
