About My Clients
Feeling overwhelmed by the seemingly constant stress of navigating today's world, where social justice issues, political unrest, and environmental crises feel like too much to bear? YOU'RE NOT ALONE. I understand the pressure you're feeling - the fear, the frustration, and a general lack of control. It's okay to acknowledge that it's a lot to carry, and you don't have to carry it alone. Let's build tools to manage this stress, focus on what is within your control, and foster resilience together.
My Background and Approach
I'm a modern therapist who blends research-based tools with a down-to-earth, flexible approach to help you take control of your life. I pride myself on showing up authentically, so I'll show you my humanness, humor, and imperfections as we work together, encouraging you to embrace the same within yourself. You can often find me bringing a little bit of humor into our work where appropriate, I'm always here to collaborate with you to give you real support and tools to help you better manage your day-to-day.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Now, maybe more than ever, it is important to use my skills and expertise to support others, especially marginalized individuals who have been or will be affected by recent political events. In between sessions, I work at the Ronald McDonald House Charity, supporting families of critically ill children, and I also work with high-risk students at my local university. These experiences have deepened my belief in the power of higher education, community support, and non-profit organizations to drive change. As a therapist, I live by the words of F. Scott Fitzgerald: “The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function. One should, for example, be able to see that things are hopeless and yet be determined to make them otherwise.” In my practice, I embrace this concept—acknowledging the reality of despair and pain while also holding onto the belief that change, that hope, is possible.
