About My Clients
I provide support to individuals who are facing life challenges to understand issues related to past trauma and the importance of developing coping mechanisms by bringing together medication management (where appropriate), psychotherapy, and lifestyle changes.
My Background and Approach
I take exceptional pride in supporting my clients' journeys to achieving their goals. I believe the role of the psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner is to help provide tools to aid in obtaining the client's goals in a holistic and caring environment. Although medication management is part of my expertise, I strongly feel that therapy should be at the forefront of treatment which is why I offer both medication management as well as psychotherapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
To ensure continuous learning and competence-building as a provider, I actively participate in psychiatric and nursing organizations, engage in networking opportunities, and stay connected with industry advancements. Additionally, attending conferences is a crucial aspect of my professional development, as it allows me to learn from experts, exchange insights with peers, and stay informed about the latest research and practices in mental health care. Subscribing to and regularly reading professional journals keeps me abreast of cutting-edge developments, enabling me to integrate evidence-based approaches into my practice. Collaborating with colleagues and mentors provides valuable perspectives and fosters a culture of shared learning. My commitment to ongoing education, active involvement in professional communities, and staying well-versed in current literature contribute to maintaining high standards of care as a mental health nurse practitioner.
