About My Clients
I provide psychotherapy to individuals (adults and children) and families who struggle with issues related to relationships, anxiety, depression, adoption, attachment, loss, acute and complex trauma and ADHD. I especially enjoy working with young children, older adolescents / emerging adults, and adult women who have experienced religious trauma or are survivors of narcissistic mothers. I offer parent coaching services for those looking to improve or enhance their parenting skills.
My Background and Approach
Susan became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2007. Susan gained intensive knowledge and experience regarding human relationships, attachment and loss. childhood abuse and neglect, infant and early childhood mental health, sensory integration (SI) issues and generational trauma as a clinician for the Under-sixes Project at the Kempe Children’s Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect. Currently, Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy guides her work with clients. She is also trained in Infant Mental Health, EMDR Therapy, DBT Therapy, Mindfulness practices and Jungian Sandplay Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Susan loves support others in their healing process towards wholeness and healing. She is deeply spiritual and is enjoys meditation and contemplative practices from different faith traditions, including Christianity and Buddhism. She is open and affirming towards minority populations and believes in systemic change. Currently, Susan serves on the board for the Colorado Sandplay Association (www.sandplaytherapy.org)
