Adolescent Issues
I have always felt a calling toward adolescent issues. I understand their unique pressures and struggles in today's society. I help the adolescent with stress, anxiety, friend issues, being content in their skin, etc. I have much experience working with adolescents and I thoroughly enjoy being able to relate to them.
Relationship / Marriage Issues
I am certified in Prepare/Enrich, which is the #1 premarital and marriage assessment tool, using evidence-based skills and insights to nurture healthy relationships. Having been married for 25 years. I know the value in communication, forgiveness, and just plain fun in a relationship.
Anxiety
With Covid-19, online learning/working, political turmoil - Anxiety, depression, and stress is almost inevitable. I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Solution-Focused therapy to identify triggers, change behavior, therefore changing how we feel. We can and will get through this time and be stronger from it.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT works! If we change our thinking, we can change our behavior, thereby changing our lives. We, as humans, underestimate the power we have when utilizing positive thoughts, changing our core beliefs and seeing life in a more positive light.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy
I love goal-oriented treatment plans. When a client finds success in the accomplishment of a simple goal, he/she is able to conquer bigger, more complicated issues with confidence. We will revisit goals often and adjust as needed. Accomplishing goals in therapy can lead to greater satisfaction in life.
Couples Counseling
Positive personal growth and change is more easily achieved if one is happy in their relationship. I enjoy working with couples who are getting serious, contemplating marriage, engaged, and married. Relationships are complicated and everyone has a different set of beliefs on what life with a partner is supposed to be. We will look at what we say, what we do, and what we want to say and do.
