About My Clients
You are an adolescent, adult, or senior carrying anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or maybe you have questions about who you are, including gender transition. Perhaps therapy feels intimidating, or you've tried it before and it didn't quite fit. Maybe you've felt unseen because of your identity or background. Whatever brought you here, you don't need a tidy story or the right words to begin — just a willingness to show up.
My Background and Approach
Each person who enters my office will find a fully affirming, judgment-free space, including LGBTQIA+ individuals and those navigating gender identity or transition. I use CBT, DBT, ACT, Gottman Method, and Trauma-Focused CBT — practical, evidence-based tools tailored to what works best for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in authenticity: everyone deserves to show up as their whole self. I proudly stand with the LGBTQAI2C+ community, and I believe in intersectionality, because no one lives a single-issue life and our identities shape our experiences in layered ways. I'm a feminist who believes in women's rights, including the rights of trans women, and I believe liberation isn't real unless it includes everyone. AIDS activism matters deeply to me, and we honor the people lost to the epidemic by continuing the fight. Outside of work, you'll find me with good friends or at home with my senior shelter dog, who reminds me daily that everyone deserves a soft place to land. Travel keeps me grounded and gives me perspective, reminding me how much bigger the world is than any one worry. I never stop learning new skills so I stay current in my field, because my clients deserve a therapist who is informed, engaged, and curious. These beliefs shape how I show up, in and out of the office.
