About My Clients
Sue enjoys serving BIPOC and LGBTQA+ populations and is a firm believer in collaborative care where patients are active participants in their own treatment plans. Sue's specialty is treating individuals, both children and adults with major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, panic and anxiety based disorders. She is also trained to treat ADHD and other chronic mental health disorders.
My Background and Approach
Sue is a dual certified Family Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified (FNP-BC) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified (PMHNP-BC) with over 8 years of hands-on clinical experience treating individuals with various mental health illnesses. She has worked in multiple settings, including, community mental health facilities, mental health crisis stabilization centers, the department of corrections, and at various inpatient mental health/substance abuse treatment centers. Sue received her Bachelors of Science and Masters degree in nursing from the University of North Dakota. She then went on to complete a post graduate certification program in psychiatry from the University of Texas, Rio Grand Valley.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Sue believes in creating an culturally responsive individualized plans of care through partnerships with her patients and their families. She works closely in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team at Canopy to ensure the best patient outcomes. Sue believes in a holistic, evidence-based, and culturally sensitive approach when treating all of her patients. Sue loves to travel and learn about different cultures She also enjoys baking, and spending time with family and friends.
