About My Clients
Even when we are trying to do everything right, things can feel wrong. Perhaps you cope with anxiety or are drowning in a difficult work environment. Perhaps you struggle with depression and cannot find a way to make your life mean what it could. Perhaps you also carry through your days the weight of unresolved trauma and have tried but not been able to "get over it." Perhaps systemic oppression boxes you in and steals what you could create new.
My Background and Approach
We will use a blend of evidenced-based skills, process, and relationship to help you resolve old burdens and walk through new doorways. For trauma, I offer EMDR, CPT, and PE. If you cope with anxiety, we will find the specific ways your nervous system grounds. If you struggle with depression, we will knit connection and purpose to heal disconnection. I also know that protocols alone don't heal. We will work together to unravel the deeper dilemmas that keep you running in place with culturally responsive care across differences. When appropriate, we will soften and shift habits through somatic-based practices. Even if you’ve never been interested in anything “spiritual,” meditation and breathing practices can give a frayed mind/body the experience of sanctuary it needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My beliefs are anti-racist and social justice oriented. I have lived internationally and worked with people newly immigrated to the U.S before becoming a psychologist. I am also attuned to how class status impacts mental health. I also have longstanding spiritual practices based in Vedanta study and Zen meditation and deeply enjoy helping others incorporate an expanded and more stable sense of themselves and the world.
