About My Clients
I provide compassionate guidance and support to individuals and couples who want to confront challenges, gain insight, and improve relationships and communication. I especially enjoy working with adults of all ages who are navigating life transitions: entering adulthood, becoming parents, facing midlife, changing careers, ending long-term relationships, or adjusting to an "empty nest."
My Background and Approach
My overarching focus is on the importance of a genuine relationship between my client and me. I believe that authenticity fosters empathy, understanding, and trust — all essential for effective therapy, no matter what issues are being addressed. I also bring to each session a calm presence, a nonjudgmental attitude, curiosity, and a sense of humor. With couples, my work ranges from brief, solution-focused therapy to longer-term support for deepening connection and improving communication. I help clarify issues, identify patterns, and create solutions for lasting change. (The couples I work with include dyads such as friends, co-parents, housemates, business partners, and parents with adult children.) I offer "walk and talk" sessions as an opportunity to take therapy off the couch and into the outdoors. Walking, especially in nature, can help alleviate depression and anxiety while facilitating clearer thinking, broader perspectives, and an overall sense of well-being.
