About My Clients
My ideal client is the one for whom therapy has previously failed. Though I am direct, I always speak with warmth, compassion and would never take you to a place in therapy where you fear you will "lose it". I am extremely patient and my present clients say I am a "ride or die" type of therapist who does not enable. I prefer to work with high trauma clients including military, first responders, their family members, as well as women and children with attachment/trauma related issues.
My Background and Approach
My approach is direct, but warm and I prefer to work with people who are truly ready to do the work. I do not believe people are their diagnosis or should be in therapy forever. Among the modalities I use are Cog/Behavior therapy, Mentalization, Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Therapy sessions with me are non judgmental and interactive. I prefer to think of our sessions as an "exchange of ideas". I help you learn to do the work on your own and will hold you accountable.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am in active member in several community organizations that promote the well being of others. I am an athlete and believe in self care. I have traveled extensively and worked throughout the world so I am well equipped to address diversity issues in a cultural context
