About My Clients
A session with me could be described as insightful and thought-provoking. Sessions would be filled with honesty, encouragement, and gentle challenging. I'm good at connecting past/present dynamics and pointing out patterns through providing psychoeducation on how those dynamics affect present behaviors/thoughts. I don't shy away from having emotionally difficult conversations and I am no stranger to providing resources or suggesting exercises between sessions.
My Background and Approach
I have a collaborative approach so I encourage, and invite, clients to share feedback, ask questions, and speak about what's clinically helpful for them. In therapy I tend to lean towards somatic (mind-body) therapeutic approaches, as well as Psychodynamic, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Paper Cranes Counseling strives to incorporate social justice and liberation-oriented practice through the empowerment of historically oppressed groups. We, as a collective, focus on connecting underrepresented wellness seekers with culturally-affirming, holistic, care.
