About My Clients
I work with adult clients (age 18+) with a range of mental health diagnoses and conditions that are self-motivated to become the best version of themselves. I do this by helping clients reflect, increasing one's insight, challenge perspective, develop healthy habits for coping and self-care, seeing connections to various aspects of wellness, and working towards positive change. I help clients with depression, stress/anxiety, life adjustments, wanting more coping skills and self-care, and more!
My Background and Approach
I have 10+ years working in the mental health field with adults in inpatient, crisis, and outpatient settings. I have a Master of Science in Addiction Counseling and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Mental Health Professional, and have done additional certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Informed. In therapy, I will use a variety of evidence-based approaches and techniques based on the goals you have in mind, presenting symptoms, diagnosis, strengths, and what you feel most comfortable with. These include, but are not limited to: Person Centered Approach, Strengths Based Approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, Psychoeducation. Therapy is a journey, full of ups and downs, and I will meet you where you're at in this process!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe nobody is perfect and everybody has room for improvement since we are constantly changing and evolving in life. I also believe that everyone has a different path in life and that's okay and part of what makes life interesting. Seeking therapy doesn't have to be for a particular problem, it can be to help you become the best version of yourself, have a listening ear and support, bounce ideas, or have someone help you find your strengths and what you want to do in this adventure called life. I believe if you have a variety of healthy coping skills, support, resources, and make your mental health and self-care a priority, you can handle pretty much any situation that comes your way. As someone who's been in the client role before, I understand change is hard and life has its challenges, but having someone to talk to in your journey can make is just a little easier.
